By doing so you support the CITRO Volunteers in performing valuable 24x7x365 Search And Rescue efforts.

CITRO cordially invites you to become an On-shore-rescuer. Doing this means that you support volunteers of CITRO to rescue those in distress at sea. The Citizens Rescue Organization 'CITRO' has been in existence for over 25 years. The organization is made up of a group of volunteers, who are on call and prepared for sea rescue 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

These volunteers rescue approx. 80 persons each year from difficult and often life threatning situations. 1996 shows an exceptional figure: 92. All safe and sound.

CITRO works in close conjunction with the local authorities, a.o. the Police Department, Fire Department, port authorities, Royal Dutch Navy, Coast Guard Netherlands Antilles & Aruba. Without any doubt, CITRO has knowledge and expertise on their side. The volunteers are trained locally as well as internationally in order for them to perform sea rescues both safely and responsibly.

CITRO can only reach its goals if and when there are sufficient funds available. At this point CITRO, with 2 life boats and approximately 30 volunteers is capable of sea rescues at any time. CITRO is in search of people who can finance this initiative from the shore. These are our 'On-shore-Rescuers'. You can become an on-shore Rescuer right now. In this matter you voluntarily aid the community in making these sea rescues possible.
