In the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba 5 sea rescue organizations, managed and operated by volunteers, joined forces in the Caribbean Search And Rescue Foundation 'CARSARF'.


The CARSARF is an association with members being

- Citizens Rescue Organization of the Netherlands Antilles (CITRO), hometown Curaçao

- Search And Rescue Foundation Aruba (SARFA), hometown Aruba, contact

- Sea Rescue Saba Foundation (SRSF), hometown Saba, contact

- Sea Rescue Statia Foundation (SRSF), hometown St. Eustatius 'Statia'

- Sint Maarten Sea Rescue Foundation (SSRF), hometown St. Maarten, contact

- (soon to follow is the sea rescue foundation of the island of Bonaire), hometown Bonaire


Purpose of the CARSARF is to join forces effectively to enhance quality of the search and rescue product amongst the islands in the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.

The CARSARF closely works together with the Royal Netherlands Life Boat Institution: the KNRM (Koninklijke Nederlandse Redding Maatschappij) and with other official Government bodies in the Netherlands Antilles, Aruba and in the Netherlands as well.

Through central coordination of the distribution of funds, material, equipment and knowledge the CARSARF strives to guarantee the quality of the search and rescue product in the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.
